On September 27, 2025, Tyson Foods, through its Hillshire Brands subsidiary, issued a large-scale recall involving approximately 58 million pounds of frozen products. The affected items include Jimmy Dean sausage-on-a-stick and State Fair corn dogs, following reports that they may be contaminated with foreign materials.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) stated that some of the recalled foods could contain small fragments of wood mixed into the batter, posing a potential hazard to consumers. At least five related injuries have been reported so far.
